Wexford FC's inaugural season will come to an end on Saturday evening in the midlands, as they travel to face 6th placed Longford Town in the City Calling Stadium.

Manager Damian Locke will be able to welcome back first choice goalkeeper Danny Bolger after the Carlow native missed the previous match at home to Shelbourne, but will be without central defender Ross Kenny who will miss only his second league game of the season through suspension.

Longford have certainly had the better of the meetings between the two sides this season, with Wexford picking up just one point in the previous 3 meetings, and also enduring their heaviest defeat of the year - 0-5 the last time the teams met in the City Calling Stadium.

The Statistics:

  • Wexford suffered their heaviest league defeat of the year the last time they visited the City Calling Stadium (0-5 on May 27th)
  • In 3 meetings so far this season, there has been 1 draw and 2 wins for Longford.
  • Longford are just one place above Wexford in the league table, but the gap is 16 points.
  • Last time out, Longford went down 1-0 away to Champions Waterford FC
  • Thomas Croke is currently Wexford FC's top goal scorer with 6 league goals
  • Ross Kenny is the club's top appearance maker, having started 25 of 26 games this season (missed Cobh away in June due to suspension)

Betting:

Longford Town: 2/5
Draw: 10/3
Wexford FC: 13/2
