Wexford FC Our U19 management team are currently recruiting for a goalkeeper coach, and a video analyst to join the team ▶️… https://t.co/WESs52i5HM

The curtain will fall on Wexford FC's home campaign on Friday evening when they host Shelbourne in their penultimate game of the season.

After serving a one match suspension last week for accumulating 5 yellow cards, midfielder Mark Slater will return, meaning manager Damian Locke will have a full squad to chose from.

As expected, Locke was disappointed in losing 0-3 to local rivals (and now champions) Waterford FC last time out. "It was a game where we just didn't play anywhere near as well as I know we can" he said. "Saying that, Waterford ran out deserved winners. We always knew that to get something from the game we would have to be on top form, and undfortunately, we weren't".

Having already beaten Friday's opponents twice this season, Locke will be hoping to make that on to three times. "It's our last game of the season, so obviously we will want to sign off by giving our own fans something to cheer about".

The Statistics:

  • Wexford's first win of the season came against Shelbourne at Ferrycarrig Park on 19th May.
  • There have been two wins for each of the teams in meetings so far this season. Shelbourne won 4-2 in the Leinster Senior Cup in February, and 2-0 in Tolka Park in March. Wexford won 1-0 in May and also 2-1 in Tolka Park in July.
  • Shelbourne are just one place above Wexford in the league table, but the gap is 15 points.
  • Last time out, Shelbourne beat bottom placed Athlone Town 4-1 in Tolka Park
  • Thomas Croke is currently Wexford FC's top goal scorer with 6 league goals
  • Ross Kenny is the club's top appearance maker, having started 25 of 26 games this season (missed Cobh away in June due to suspension)

Betting:

Wexford: 16/5
Draw: 12/5
Shelbourne: 5/6
