It was a mixed day for the clubs teams, as the under 19's started their league adventure at Ferrycarrig Park, the under 17's traveled to Dublin to face St Patrick's Athletic, and the women's team hosted Linfield Ladies in Bunclody.
It was a beautiful day at Ferrycarrig Park, but it didn't start well for the under 19's as two first half goals from Limerick put them in to the driving seat. The game was turned on it's head in the second half however when Dean George scored within a minute of the restart (having just come on as a half-time sub), Eoin Porter slotted past the keeper to level the scores, and Danny Doyle held off the last defender to finish smartly and give Wexford the 3 points.
The under-17's were playing their last pre-season friendly before their league campaign kicks off next weekend. They traveled to Dublin to face a strong St Patrick's Athletic side, but unfortunately came out on the wrong side of a heavy defeat.
Wexford Youths Women were the biggest winners of the day defeating Linfield Ladies 8-1 in Bunclody. Claire O'Riordan opened the scoring after 15 minutes, and at half time the score was 7-1. There was just one goal scored in the second half by Aisling Frawley. Match report to follow.
