Wexford FC Our postponed Leinster Senior Cup match with @Cabinteely_FC is now set to take place in Ferrycarrig Park on Tuesday… https://t.co/YDge77Fs5W

Wexford FC travel to face Shelbourne in the Leinster Senior Cup on Friday evening.

Wexford FC will play their first competitive game on Friday evening against fellow League of Ireland First Division side Shelbourne in the Leinster Senior Cup.

The home team come in to the game on the back of two wins in friendly games, having beaten Premier Division opposition in Derry City and St Patrick's Athletic.

For Wexford, the hard work on the training pitch will finally be tested on the competitive stage as Damian Locke leads his young team in to battle for the first time. Locke has a near full squad to chose from, with the only players unavailable being Sean Eve who is injured, and Ricky Fox who is cup-tied, having previously played for Shamrock Rovers of Enniscorthy in the same competition.

"It's a relief to finally get out on the pitch in a competitive fixture" said Locke. "The lads have worked really hard in training, but you can't simulate a proper competitive game"

Kick off is set for 7:45pm on Friday evening, and the Wexford FC media team will be commentating live through their Mixlr channel. Click here for more
